About The Teacher

My name is Angie Barnes. My husband’s name is Darrell. I have two children, Emma and Owen.  Emma will begin her senior year at OSHS and Owen will begin his freshman year at OSHS.

I graduated from Tennessee Tech with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education in 1993.  I received master's degree in Elementary Education in 1997 from Tennessee Tech and in 2007, I received an Ed.S degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Administration/Supervision.

I began teaching first grade at Central Elementary in Wartburg.  I taught at Central for seven years before I had my children.  I stayed at home with my children for four years before coming to Oliver Springs.  I have taught in the RCS system for thirteen years.  I have twenty years total teaching experience.  The 2017-18 school year will be my fourteenth year with the RCS system and my twenty-first year of teaching.

My goal for this year is to provide a safe and positive learning environment for your child. Because we have a wonderful staff and support staff here at D.S.E.S.  I will do my best to make your child's year with me one that is full of love, lots of laughs, and most importantly....Learning! I am fully confident that your child will have a great learning experience and a First Grade year full of fun and memories made!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by note, phone (865) 435-6357 or email me at avbarnes@roaneschools.com
