Mrs. Becky Sensibaugh » Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

August 2018

Dear Parents,

Please allow me to be the first one to welcome you and your child to my 5th Grade classroom here at Dyllis Springs Elementary.  The closer we can work together, the more successful and productive this school year will be.

As your child’s teacher this year, I bring with me 17 years of teaching experience in 2nd through 5th grades in Carlsbad, New Mexico, 2 years teaching 2nd Grade here at D.S.E.S., and 1 year of teaching 5th.  I am very excited to be teaching with Mrs. Topmiller and Mrs. Choate on the 5th grade team this year. I am familiar the programs at D.S.E.S. and feel confident that this will be another outstanding and fun filled school year.

Fifth grade will be a year of transition and change for your child and one in which they will need your support.  Your child will be stepping out on a journey that will lead them into their middle school and high school adventures. I will be asking your child to strive to become an independent worker and thinker. I will be encouraging them to be responsible for their actions and school work, and I will celebrate with them as they explore the person they are becoming.  Your support from home as we embark on this journey will make this transition a smoother process.

I encourage you to make an appointment to come in and visit with me to discuss any special concerns you might have.  The first few days and weeks of the school year are critical, and appointments will help to avoid interruptions and distractions.  I have an open door policy and look forward to hearing from you.  I welcome comments and suggestions from the parents of my students.  We want your ideas!  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if there is something you would like to discuss.

You want the best for your child, and so do I.  The upcoming school year will be one of success and promise.  I am looking forward to meeting and working with you and your child.
